Welcome to the Western Eparchy website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada (UOCC). The Western Eparchy consists of Ukrainian Orthodox parishes in the two Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. There are about 50 parishes (mostly country churches), and two cathedrals – St. John's Cathedral in Edmonton, and Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Vancouver.
The Western Eparchy is under the Omophorion of His Eminence Metropolitan Ilarion of Winnipeg, and the central Eparchy, Primate of the UOCC. Since his election as Metropolitan, His Eminence has also served as the Episcopal administrator of the Western Eparchy.
This website provides information about the UOCC parishes and the clergy in the Western Eparchy. Use this site to locate a Ukrainian Orthodox parish or church service near you, and/or to find a priest to perform a baptism, wedding, funeral or memorial service.
Our Resources section has useful information and contacts for new Ukrainians arriving in Alberta. There are also links to Ukrainian Orthodox organizations, parishes and related associations.
See our NEW Calendar with information on church services, Easter Basket Blessing, Provody (grave blessings) and Xhrams (saints' feast days) in rural UOCC parishes in northeastern Alberta.
